6th Grade ELA Valentines
Be Mine
Students in sixth grade ELA classes have been busy writing Valentine cards using figurative language. Their assignment was to create an original poem using at least one simile and one metaphor. These are just a few of the creative sentiments these students produced for cupids special day. Brandy

Art Elements Mrs. Ketcham's Class
The Visual Arts classes at LEMS have been studying the Elements of Art this semester, and Ms. Ketcham has developed a rap to assist the students in learning this vocabulary. These Elements are incorporated into all lessons, and the rap helps students easily recall what to incorporate in their work in order to be successful artists.

The Elements Rap
I'm here to tell you the Elements of Art.
I know them all because I'm so smart.
Now, line is the path of a moving dot.
See, I told you I sho' know a lot.
And a shape can look like it's all alone.
It's an area with boundaries-kinda like my phone.
Texture is the way an object can feel,
but look close, it might not be for real.
And Color is the way an object reflects light.
See, I told ya I'm doin' iight.
Now, Space is the last element dude.
He's pos or neg depending on his mood.
